Aims & Scope
The International Journal of Anatomy and Research (IJAR) is an open access, peer-reviewed quarterly journal publishing original research, case reports, review articles, and medical-education studies across the full range of anatomical sciences — including gross, microscopic, clinical, developmental, and radiological anatomy, as well as pedagogy and assessment in anatomy education.
The journal welcomes submissions from anatomists, clinicians, and medical educators worldwide, and is committed to rigorous peer review, editorial transparency, and rapid, accessible publication under an open access model.
Journal History
IJAR has been publishing continuously since 2013, and is currently in its 14th volume. The journal is published quarterly, with four issues per volume (January–March, April–June, July–September, and October–December).
Peer Review Process
Every submission undergoes editorial screening followed by double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise. The full editorial workflow, including expected timelines at each stage, is described on our Article Workflow page.
IJAR follows the core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) in its editorial and peer review process.
Open Access & Licensing
IJAR is a fully open access journal: there is no charge to readers, and no subscription or paywall restricts access to published content. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license. Full content is deposited in Portico, a community-supported digital preservation archive, to ensure long-term accessibility of the journal's record.
