Preparing Main Manuscript Text

Manuscripts for Research Articles submitted to International Journal of Anatomy and Research (IJAR) should be written in clear, concise English and structured into the following sections (in this exact order):

1. Title Page
2. Abstract
3. Keywords
4. Background
5. Methods
6. Results and Discussion
7. Conclusions
8. List of Abbreviations Used (if any)
9. Competing Interests Declaration
10. Authors' Contributions
11. Acknowledgements
12. Endnotes
13. References
14. Illustrations and Figures (if any)

Title Page Requirements

The title page must be formatted as a separate introductory section and must include:

• The full title of the article (avoid abbreviations in the title).
• Full names, institutional affiliations/addresses, and official email addresses for all co-authors.
• Clear indication of the designated Corresponding Author with complete mailing address and direct telephone contact.

Abstract Guidelines

The Abstract must not exceed 250 words and must be structured into the following distinct sections:

• Background: The context, rationale, and specific purpose of the study.
• Mehodology: The brief description on the methodlogy used in the study (highlight the noval methods used).
• Results: The primary empirical findings, quantitative data, and statistical outcomes.
• Conclusions: A brief summary highlighting the main implications of the research.

*Note: Do not cite references, figures, or tables within the abstract.

Keywords

Provide 3 to 10 keywords immediately following the abstract, reflecting the core anatomical subject matter, methodology, and scope of the manuscript.

Background

The Background section should be written in a manner accessible to medical researchers and anatomists without specialist knowledge in that specific subdiscipline. It must clearly state—and, where helpful, illustrate—the theoretical background, existing literature gaps, and exact research aims. End the section with a brief statement of what is reported in the paper.

Methods

The Methods section must detail the study design, cadaveric or tissue sample origins, anatomical dissection or imaging protocols, control groups, and statistical software/analytical tests used, providing sufficient detail to allow full replication by independent investigators.

Results and Discussion

The Results and Discussion may be presented as combined or separate sections. Subheadings may be used to organize findings logically. Ensure data presented in tables or figures is summarized rather than repeated verbatim in the text.

Conclusions

Clearly state the principal conclusions of the research, explaining their scientific relevance, clinical utility, or surgical significance in anatomical practice. Summary diagrams may be included.

List of Abbreviations

If non-standard anatomical or clinical abbreviations are used, define them upon first occurrence in the text and list them alphabetically in this section preceding Competing Interests.

Competing Interests Declaration

Authors must declare any financial or personal relationships with individuals or organizations that could inappropriately influence their work. If no competing interests exist, state: 'The author(s) declare that they have no competing interests'.

Authors' Contributions & Authorship Criteria

Specify the exact role of each author in the manuscript. To qualify for authorship, individuals must satisfy all three ICMJE criteria:

1. Substantial contributions to study conception, design, data acquisition, or analysis and interpretation;
2. Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
3. Final approval of the version to be published.

Acquisition of funding or general supervision alone does not justify authorship. Contributors who do not meet full authorship criteria should be listed in Acknowledgements. A scanned copy of the signed Author Contribution Form must be uploaded upon submission.

Acknowledgements & Funding Statements

Acknowledge individuals who provided technical assistance, writing support, or research materials but do not qualify as co-authors. Explicitly state all funding bodies and grant numbers involved in the research or manuscript preparation.

Endnotes

Designate endnotes in the text using superscript lowercase letters (e.g., ^a, ^b) and format them as a continuous prose paragraph in the Endnotes section.
