Preparing Tables

Each table must be numbered and cited in sequence using Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1, Table 2, Table 3). Tables must include a concise title placed directly above the table (maximum 15 words). Detailed table legends may follow below the table.

Smaller tables should be inserted into the main manuscript file at the end of the document in A4 portrait or landscape format. Use Word 'Table objects' rather than tabbed text to ensure columns stay aligned. Ensure cell borders display as clear black lines. Do not use commas within numerical values or apply color/shading to cells. Highlight specific items using bold text or footnotes explained in the legend. Do not submit tables as graphic image files or separate spreadsheets.

Style and Language Specifications

Manuscripts submitted to International Journal of Anatomy and Research (IJAR) must be written in high-quality English (either US English or British English, maintained consistently throughout). Articles must be written clearly and concisely. IJAR does not perform extensive copyediting for language style; manuscripts with severe grammatical errors may be rejected prior to peer review. Non-native English speakers are encouraged to utilize professional language-editing services prior to submission.

Abbreviations & Typography Requirements

• Font & Size: Typed in Arial font, 12pt font size.
• Line Spacing: Double line spacing throughout the entire manuscript.
• Alignment: Left-aligned, unjustified text without hyphenating words at line breaks.
• Paragraphing: Use hard returns only to end headings and paragraphs.
• Title Capitalization: Capitalize only the first word and proper nouns in the title.
• Page Numbering: Number all pages consecutively.
• Columns: Single-column format throughout (do not format text into multiple columns).
• Special Characters: Greek characters and mathematical symbols should be embedded directly. If a special symbol cannot be rendered, spell out the symbol name in full.

Publishing Rare Images in Anatomy

IJAR actively publishes rare anatomical images, unique cadaveric variations, and clinical radiology findings under our dedicated Images in Dissection Hall / Image Journal section. Published images are assigned a unique Image ID with author credit displayed on the image plate.

Preparation Guidelines for Image Articles

• Images must be unique and accompanied by signed patient or cadaveric research consent.
• Include comprehensive details regarding dissection location, clinical background, and imaging protocols in a formal covering letter.
• Provide a brief, self-explanatory case note highlighting the unique anatomical features and referencing relevant literature.
• Acceptance of image articles is subject to formal editorial board and reviewer evaluation.
